Three Gators Earn Training Opportunity With USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team – Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three members of the Florida volleyball team earned an opportunity to train with the 2021 USA Volleyball Women’s Collegiate National Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday evening.

T’ara Ceasar, Thayer Hall and Marlie Monserez are three of 29 players selected to participate in the training that will take place in Anaheim, Calif. from June 13-18.

Ceasar and Hall were tabbed as two of seven outside hitters selected, while Monserez is one of four setters who was invited to the training.

Five players selected to train with USA Volleyball play in the Southeastern Conference, with Florida leading the way with three selections.

Players on the Collegiate National Team, selected by the U.S. Women’s National Team staff and National Team Development Program, will work with top volleyball coaches at USAV’s Anaheim training center. Athletes will receive evaluations, feedback and individual development plans.

Chris McGown has been selected to serve as the head coach during the training. He will be assisted by Tayyiba Haneef-Park (Athletes Unlimited), Rob Browning (Saint Mary’s University) and Michelle Chatman (USA Volleyball).

“The group that we have coming is one of the finest concentrations of volleyball talent in the world at this age level,” said Collegiate National Team Head Coach Chris McGown of Gold Medal Squared. “I’m joined by an equally talented group in our coaching staff, and we’re excited to get to work with these athletes as we refine their already remarkable skills, and further integrate them into the USA Volleyball systems. I’m fortunate to be a part of the journey with these future stars of our Women’s National Team.”
