The English Premier League is back on the box this weekend, with a whirlwind of fixtures straight off the back of the March international football break.

While they don’t qualify for sleeping giant status just yet, Arsenal and Liverpool are two EPL heavyweights clogging up the top half of the table outside the European qualification places.

The Gunners meet the Reds at the Emirates Stadium in the Saturday night fixture, with the pressure on both to fire up a last ditch top-six charge.

Manchester City can further cement their title credentials in the early evening game but they have a tough task on their hands, as Pep Guardiola’s men go to third-placed Leicester.

Chelsea return to domestic duties on Saturday lunchtime as they look to extend their unbeaten run under coach Thomas Tuchel against doomed West Brom at Stamford Bridge.

A Yorkshire derby nestles in among the big names, too, with Elland Road the venue for the start of Sheffield United’s long goodbye to the top flight away to white rose rivals Leeds.

Sunday night sees the attention switch across the Pennines as Manchester United go up against tricky Brighton, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side try to push neighbours City as far as possible in the title race.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are jostling for a European qualification spot as well, as the Londoners head north to tackle a Newcastle side in a wretched run of form under embattled boss Steve Bruce.

Aston Villa are hoping the break has allowed them to reset after four games without victory, with Fulham visiting Villa Park in the midst of a scrap for their Premier League lives.

Southampton and Burnley pair up in the Sunday lunchtime match at St Mary’s Stadium, as both sides keep half an eye over their shoulders at the relegation scrap below.

There are two Monday fixtures as the EPL returns, with both involving top six chasers.

Everton are out to avoid a third straight loss when they welcome Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace to Goodison Park.

West Ham have also had a wobble in their otherwise fine campaign in recent weeks, with Wolves the opposition at Molineux on Monday night to round off the Premier League’s return.
