Kaizer Chiefs celebrated another academic qualification at the Village after Bernard Parker secured a Higher Certificate in Sports Marketing.
Following Bryson Petersen’s achievement for completing a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering last week, Chiefs confirmed Parker was the latest Amakhosi first-team player to prepare for life after football.
Parker, a veteran of ten years with the Soweto giants acquired his qualification via Boston City campus in a course that ranges between 18-months to three years to secure.
The Chiefs way
“The club would like to once again congratulate the Bernard and Brylon on their achievements and Kaizer Chiefs continues to support all members of staff in the pursuit of further educating themselves and in further development in football and other spheres of life,” Chiefs said in an official statement.

Where to next for Die Hond?
Parker in particular could now move on to the Boston Diploma or Higher Certificate Programme should he opt to take his latest achievement further.
Some of the key elements the course has provided are the analysis for market research and sales data, the understanding of sport sociology, understanding the sponsorships in the sports sector.
In 2019 he acquired a diploma in sports management and it’s becoming increasingly clear that he sees his future in the game once he hangs up his boots.

Parker won the Eredivisie in the 2009/10 season with FC Twente under former England coach Steve McLaren.
